Dovetail's new CD, Love Is War, sounds different than many of the other rock projects recorded at Salim Nourallah's Pleasantry Lane studios. Think polished, Britpop-influenced songs with pretty falsettos (from frontman Philip Creamer.) A nice change for the Lane.

After losing Will Kapinos to a solo career, Make-Believers members Aaron White, Justin Collins and Chris Garver decided to keep making lo-fi rock with a new name and a sped-up tempo. Says White in an e-mail: "The remaining three members decided to keep going to see how fast we could play, with the only sustenance being coffee, beer and fine Plano pastries."
